Ashton Knight Read, 22 of Leonard, Texas Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Apostolic Fellowship of Leonard, 607 E. Bois Darc * Leonard, Texas.
Ashton’s short life was filled with moments that touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. Born on September 26, 2002, in Nassau Bay, Texas, he was a bright light who radiated warmth and kindness. With a deep love for video games, anime, and Greek mythology, Ashton’s curiosity and passion for the world around him were evident in everything he did. He had a way of making others feel truly seen, cared for, and loved—qualities that will remain with us long after his passing on December 14, 2024, at 22. Ashton’s soul was beautiful, his humor infectious, and his presence unforgettable. Though his time with us was brief, the impact he made is everlasting, and he will be deeply missed.
Ashton was a beloved son, grandson, brother, and friend. He was deeply loved by his mother, Jessica Read, who was his greatest supporter, and by his maternal grandparents, Pamela and Richard Beeman. His love extended to an extended family who cherished him greatly: his Aunt Jillian Beeman, his Uncle Jason Beeman, his Gam-Gam Judy Mitcham, his Aunt Jennifer Fletcher, and his G-mom Nancyann Rodriguez. He was lovingly cared for by his stepfather, Raymond Dowlearn, and embraced by his uncles Joseph, Tony, and Scott Dowlearn, as well as his Aunt Wanda Dowlearn, each of whom played a unique role in his life.
Ashton was also part of a broader family circle, including his father, Seneca Read, his half-brother Jackson Read, his paternal grandparents, George and Karen Schmidt, and his uncles Ollis and Micah Read. Their love and influence were integral to the person Ashton became, and their memories of him will remain cherished.
We remember that Ashton’s love, warmth, and legacy will never fade. Though he may no longer walk among us, he will forever remain in our hearts. Ashton taught us the power of unconditional love, the importance of cherishing each moment, and the profound impact of making those around us feel valued.
